Resolve .apk installation issues when using TracerPlus Desktop Publisher

If you are having issues installing your published .apk file this is most likely due to a mismatching Java version. Below are the steps to resolve this issue in TracerPlus version 9 and TracerPlus version 10:

The current release of TracerPlus Desktop Publisher 9 requires Java Version 8 Build 60 however some PCs are updating to newer versions which causes the published apk to no longer install. Follow the instructions below to resolve this issue.

http://files.tracerplus.com/private/APK_JavaUpdate/Android.zip

  1. Download the above Android.zip file to your PC.
  2. Right click the zip file and choose extract which should create an android folder.
  3. Make sure TracerPlus Desktop is fully closed.
  4. Navigate to your TracerPlus Desktop install path (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\PTS\TracerPlus Desktop 9\Tools) folder (Do not use search).
  5. Copy the Android folder that you unzipped earlier above into this Tools folder replacing the existing Android directory and files.
  6. Open your TracerPlus Desktop project and rebuild your apk file.
  7. Copy apk file to device and execute it to see if it works now.
