Sync All / Sync Selected buttons do not work in Connect

If you are attempting to sync by pressing the Sync All / Sync Selected buttons in TracerPlus Connect (but it is not working), the following information may help:


  • The Sync All / Sync Selected buttons are driven by Windows Mobile Device Center, and DO NOT work for Android devices. You must initiate the sync by creating a button on your project form. 
  • If you are using a Windows Mobile device and the buttons are not working, you can try creating a DoSync button on your project form, and initiating the sync that way. You can do this by following the steps below:
  1. Open the TracerPlus desktop project that you would like to change

  2. Select the session that you'd like to create the Sync Button in from the left hand side sessions list

  3. In that session, go to the Form Designer tab (second from the left)

  4. Once in the Form Designer, select the "Button" option from the tools on the left side.

  5. Place the button anywhere on your project form.

  6. Left click the button, and see the Selected Control Properties on the right hand side of your screen

  7. In the "Behavior" tab, change the Button Action drop down to "DoSync"

  8. In the Sync Settings tab at the bottom, change the SyncHost ID to the host ID you set for Connect (probably 1)

  9. Change the SyncProfile ID to your desired Profile ID (could also be 1)

  10. If everything is done correctly, you should be able to deploy the project to your device, then use that button to initiate a sync from your device.
