I turned on my device and my PTS Software is gone

This can happen if the batteries die or if the handheld is left off of the charger for too long. The Handheld devices have backup memory built in that will last approx 3-5 minutes (some may be longer) when your batteries are removed or when they run out of power. This is used to preserve all of the applications not burned into the ROM of the handheld. All data and applications will be lost after this 3-5 minutes are up. To restore your data, charge or replace the batteries in the handheld and perform a Hotsync. This will prompt you to pick a user. Select the appropriate user and all of that users files and applications in the Palm User Backup folder is restored to the handheld.
