TracerPlus Desktop and TracerPlus Connect are no longer bundled with ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center. You will need to download these software components separately to use the following features:
- Deploy TracerPlus Desktop projects to a Windows Mobile/CE device
- Cradle sync between TracerPlus Connect and a Windows Mobile/CE device
To download these software components please follow the link below appropriate to your system configuration. For all Windows operating systems up to Windows 8, you can right click on My Computer in the Start Menu, and select Properties to see which version of Windows you have, and the bit version. For Windows 8 and up, press WINDOWS + E to open up Windows Explorer. From here you can right click on My Computer in the left pane and select Properties to see the Windows version and bit information.
Older versions of TracerPlus may receive the error - Error 1904 - Rapi.dll failed to register - during the install of TracerPlus Connect if Microsoft ActiveSync / Windows Mobile Device Center is not installed. In some versions this will prevent TracerPlus Connect from launching with an error of failed to launch. To resolve the issue simply install the appropriate Microsoft syncing software below:

Note: Windows Server 2008 and 2012 require the Desktop Experience to be enabled in order to install the Windows Mobile Device Center update. Click Here to view an article highlighting this feature.
Note for Users of Windows 10: Users have been seeing mixed results in getting Windows Mobile Device Center to connect properly to a device in Windows 10. There are no updates coming from Microsoft that we are aware of that address this issue so you may need to take the issue up with your device manufacturer if it will not connect. We have found that changing the type of USB connection sometimes resolves the issue and can typically be found by going to the USB to PC connection settings on the device and disabling the advanced networking functionality.
