Download the TracerPlus Android .APK file from our website. There are several methods of retrieval available at the following link:
http://www.tracerplus.com/tracerplus/android_install.php
You can download the .APK directly from the Google Play store from the following link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pts.tracerplus10
You should be able to launch installation of the app right from the above web link.
If you downloaded the .APK direct from the Google Play store, then the installation process is completed alongside the download, so you already have the app. If you downloaded it via QR code, in most cases you can click the notification that shows up upon download completion to start app installation, otherwise, you can continue reading this tutorial to install the .APK manually. If you downloaded the file from our website, and then placed it on your device via Windows Explorer through a USB connection, you must install the .APK manually.
Once the file is on your device, you must locate it to start the installation. To do that, we need a file manager application. Most devices will come from the manufacturer with a file manager application. Please note that the Downloads application is NOT a file manager (technically it is, but not suitable for our purposes). The Downloads application is specialized to only "see" the files you have downloaded on your device, and usually not anything you have transferred via a physical USB connection. You might see the .APK there if you used the QR code retrieval method, in which case, you might be able to begin installation by tapping the .APK file. Even if you see your file there (if you had transferred it through USB), the Downloads application has special restrictions in place to prevent you from opening security vulnerabilities on your device. Long story short: the Downloads application won't work in our case.
If your device does not have a file manager application, you can easily download one from the Google Play store. You can find one by using the Google Play store and searching by entering 'File Explorer', or the link below is a popular free version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager
Open your file manager application of choice, and navigate to where you transferred the file to. Once you are there, tap on the TracerPlus.apk file. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue with installation of the app.
If you see an error message when you tap on the file stating something along the following: "Cannot install application from unknown sources", continue reading this last bit to enable installation of applications from outside settings. In most cases, along with the error message dialog, you will get a button that will lead you directly to the security setting in question. If not, open up your Settings app. Locate the Security section. In this section, look for an option labeled "Outside sources" or "Unknown sources." The accompanying description of this setting is something along the lines of: "Allow installation of applications from outside/unknown sources." The only "internal" or "known" source of Android applications is the Google Play store. Everything else, including the QR method, and the file transfer method, are considered external or outside sources. You must enable this security setting to continue with the download. You can turn it off after installation to prevent yourself from accidentally installing unwanted applications later on.
Once that is all said and done, your TracerPlus app should be downloaded, installed, and ready to use. You can find it by opening the app drawer from the home screen.
