The transition from TracerPlus 10.4 to TracerPlus 10.5 is considered a Major Upgrade.
Your TracerPlus Mobile Client may be affected by this upgrade depending on your license model. The following includes instructions on steps we recommend based on the following license models.
For users with a Subscription license model:
Subscription users will not be impacted by the upgrade and will not lose services.
- If automatic updates are on, PTS recommends turning this off to prevent any potential issues in production due to feature updates/changes seen in rare cases and recommends it is tested on one device before fully rolling out this update.
- If automatic updates are off, no further action needs to be taken. This upgrade can be completed at a later date by turning them on or manually installing the update. https://www.tracerplus.com/software/downloads
For users with a Perpetual license model with active support:
- If automatic updates are on, PTS recommends turning this off as your current registration code will no longer work and the software will become unregistered. This will also prevent any potential issues in production due to feature updates/changes seen in rare cases and recommend it is tested on one device before fully rolling out this update.
- If automatic updates are off, no further action needs to be taken. The upgrade can be completed at a later date by turning automatic updates on or by manually installing the update.
- Prior to updating, please contact Tier I Support for new registration codes for 10.5 including the device ID for each device you are looking to update. The Device ID can be found within the TracerPlus application by navigating to the About screen located in the menu.
For users with a Perpetual license model without active support:
- If automatic updates are on, PTS recommends turning this off as your current registration code will no longer work and the software will become unregistered. This will also prevent any potential issues in production due to feature updates/changes seen in rare cases and recommend it is tested on one device before fully rolling out this update.
- If automatic updates are off, no further action needs to be taken and you will remain on the version of TracerPlus you are currently using.
- If the upgrade occurs, Android users will either need to revert back to the previous 10.4 version or contact your account rep to add support, or switch to a Subscription Licensing model. iOS users will not be able to revert back to the previous version of TracerPlus that was used and should contact your account rep to add support, or switch to a subscription licensing model.
Once you have confirmed the instructions above, you will be able to access the newest updates.
How to Upgrade the TracerPlus Mobile Client
When updating, please visit the Google Play Store or App Store and install the TracerPlus Mobile Client.
If you do not have access to Google Play, follow the steps below to upgrade the TracerPlus Mobile Client on your Android device:
- Go to the TracerPlus Download page.
- Click on the tracerplus.apk file needed.
- Click download.
- When the download is complete, connect your Android device to your computer via USB cable.
- Copy the .apk file previously downloaded to your device.
- On the device, go into your file browser, tap on the newly-downloaded .apk file to install.
How to Upgrade TracerPlus Desktop, TracerPlus Desktop Publisher, and TracerPlus Connect
We strongly recommend upgrading all components of TracerPlus to version 10.5. For example: if TracerPlus Desktop is on 10.4 while the TracerPlus Mobile Client is on 10.5, you can experience issues.
We only support applications on the same version.
- On your desktop, please visit the TracerPlus download page.
- Fill out the download form.
- When you reach the software download links, download and install both to your computer.
Note for users with TracerPlus Desktop Publisher: The upgrade to 10.5 will require a new registration code for the Publisher add-on. Please contact your Account Manager or Tier I Support for new registration codes for Publisher 10.5. Also note that the Product ID in the Publisher settings will need to be changed from TP10 to TPXV, and the apk installer rebuilt and installed.
